About This Quiz

Can you tell a Chevy Blazer from a Volvo 440, or spot the difference between an El Camino and a Duett? If you were faced with a pair of electric vehicles like the Polestar and the Bolt, could you tell which was made by Volvo and which was a Chevy creation? Prove your car make IQ with this quiz!

Chevy and Volvo rank among the world's best-selling car manufacturers, but can you tell the difference between the cars each one produces? Interestingly enough, the style of each of these automakers ties back to long-established philosophies that date to when the companies were founded.

Chevrolet began in 1911 as part of Detroit's General Motors. The American auto behemoth was built on the idea of creating "a car for every purse and purpose." At the time, that meant transitioning from the limited model lines common in the U.S. to a more mainstream method of production in order to compete with Ford and his famous assembly lines.

Sixteen years later and halfway across the globe, Volvo was established in Sweden. Even then, the company worked on the idea that "the guiding principle behind everything we make is, and always will be, safety." This focus on safe auto travel helped Volvo invent things like side impact protection and the three-point seatbelt.

Of course, the design of Volvo and Chevy cars have changed over the years to meet changing demands. Think you can recognize one brand from another using only a single picture? Take our quiz to find out!
