You might've even thought that if you were ever to do one, in your imagination, these are the steps you would take, but what car would be waiting for you? While many of us see heists occurring in film, there are quite a few that actually happened! Forty years ago in 1978, there was the Lufthansa heist that took place at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. This was an inside job where the thieves got away with $6 million worth of cash and jewels. You can even see this heist recreated in the 1990 crime film, Goodfellas. 

Some heists aren't centered around money or jewelry, but paintings that cost millions of dollars. Just in 1990, two men performed a heist in a Bostom museum where they made off with 13 items, including paintings by renowned artists like Degas and Rembrandt. This heist equated to $200 million!
